I am totally Googley for Google-riffic resources like the ones John Patten, @jpatten, and Joe Wood, @ucdjoe, provide. Check out these jam-packed slides with everything for Sylvan Getting Googley, a five day professional development training on Google Apps for Education, that John Patten presented. One set of slides that are particularly persuasive and informative for depitcing a snapshot of the value of Going Google, is Docs & Drive, 10 Tools that May be New to You. A huge thank you for sharing Mr. Patten. Must be my good luck to see them posted on my birthday.
There are oodles of Google resources on the web. I'm quite the connoisseur of web resources since I dislike reinventing the wheel so much. Maybe that's how some of our students feel when they get an assignment? Also, I rarely can do a better job than what I find and if allowed, end up tweaking to perfection. The hardest part of looking for resources is finding current resources to spend your time on reviewing them. I have followed Richard Byrne's blog, Free Technology for Teachers, for over two years. He's definitely in my top 10 Education Technology Heroes list. I've learned so much and been inspired by his webinars and short tutorials. I've personally paid for some of his training and highly recommend them if you ever get a chance definitely take advantage of it. He does a particularly good job with Google Apps. Check out his blog and use the search for anything education technology related.
